Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Coordinator.

The Section of Digitally Enabled Care (SoDEC) at NYU Grossman School of Medicine is hiring a Research Coordinator to assist with day-to-day research activities including research design, study management, data collection, preliminary data analysis, and dissemination of results. Responsibilities include coordinating study operations in accordance with approved protocols; preparing and submitting regulatory materials to the Institutional Review Board (IRB); and supporting manuscript and abstract development. The Research Coordinator will work as part of a team to initiate, conduct, and manage recruitment for research studies, including working closely with providers and clinical staff, coordinating outreach activities, and managing study documentation. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high degree of professional maturity, commitment to excellence, independence, flexibility, and initiative, and will possess the ability to work collaboratively with diverse individuals, teams, and populations both internally and externally.
The position will be based in the Division of Healthcare Delivery Sciences Section of Digitally Enabled Care in the Department of Population Health, a dynamic learning environment focused on improving patient safety and outcomes.[

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal and external research team members to plan, coordinate, and monitor research activities in support of study objectives.
  • Support day-to-day operations of research studies, including study management, documentation, and coordination of project activities.
  • Ensure accurate execution of research protocols in accordance with HIPAA regulations and institutional policies.
  • Assist with regulatory activities, including preparation and submission of documents to the NYU Institutional Review Board (IRB) and maintenance of regulatory files.
  • Support recruitment, screening, and enrollment of study participants.
  • Collect and manage research data from electronic health records (EHR) and other sources.
  • Assist with data analysis, interpretation of findings, and preparation of reports, presentations, and other study deliverables.
  • Conduct literature reviews and assist with preparation, editing, and submission of manuscripts, abstracts, and presentations for dissemination.
  • Coordinate research team meetings, prepare agendas and minutes, and facilitate communication among investigators, clinical staff, and external collaborators.
  • Assist with grant-related activities, including preparation of materials for grant applications and required progress reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of research and departmental priorities.

Additional Position Specific Responsibilities:
Familiarity with health services and population health research.
Bonus: experience with EHR clinical data, chart review, and/or qualitative research.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's degree in life sciences, allied health or equivalent in a related discipline and 0-1 years experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Effective oral, written, communication, interpersonal skills. Must be able to work under the direction of supervision. Ability to operate research related equipment. Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as World, Excel, Access, Power Point and Outlook. Familiar with Internet applications. Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems. Time management skills and ability to work well under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of basic medical terminology is preferred. Prior experience working with Research Protocols. Experience working in an academic medical center environment

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $66,299.99 - $66,300.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
