Variable days off in accordance with event and project schedules.
Flexible shift schedules depending on these factors can include:
7:00 am - 3:30 pm
8:00 am - 4:30 pm

| Primary Purpose of Position |
Assists in the management and supervision of projects that are forwarded to Facilities Management or outside contractors. Reviews construction; completes repairs and preventative maintenance tasks; maintains shop and equipment inventory. |

Graduation from high school or equivalent. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position's role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

| Essential Job Duties |
- Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on arena equipment and facility components as needed.
- Provide mechanical and maintenance support for events and daily activities.
- Follow the Preventive Maintenance Program and complete Work Requests to ensure that components of the facility and equipment are given the maximum life expectancy.
- Perform mechanical tasks and repairs as needed.
- Performs routine or repetitive tasks completely and accurately, such as painting, replacing door hardware, and lightbulbs, and basic repairs on tables, chairs, and other arena equipment.
- Follow proper procedures and techniques in the performance of duties to eliminate or reduce to the greatest extent possible any safety hazards.

| Other Work Responsibilities |
- Be knowledgeable of the fire panel system and operations.
- Be able to complete non-routine projects with the assistance/guidance of the maintenance supervisor.
- Communicating with customers and management about how issues are being resolved.

| Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education |
- Experience performing tasks associated with one or more assigned trades, including two years of contributing-level work in at least one building trade; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Experience in a Corporate or University environment
- Experience in painting, plastering, plumbing, maintenance, and repair.
- Ability to use and care for mechanical and power hand tools, including, but not limited to, saws (hand, band, radial, table, and miter), drills and drill presses, sanders, pipe threaders, paint applicators, ladders, lifts, planes, and routers.
- Proficient computer skills (MS Office suite, email, mainframe applications).
- Ability to troubleshoot plumbing systems, as well as use the tools necessary to prepare work surfaces for paint and other finishes.
- Strong organizational skills documented by prior experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of symbols and principles involved in plans, blueprints, and drawings.
- Understands and complies with University Safety, State, and OSHA requirements and reads safety manuals.
- Ability to develop collaborative relationships.
- Ability to measure materials or distances.
- Physical strength is sufficient to perform medium-level tasks up to 50 pounds of bulk weight to a level equal to the height of the applicant's waist.
