The Cone Health Medical Group (CHMG) and Value Based Care (VBC) Divisions' CFO is the executive strategic leader of financial operations of CHMG and VBC. The role will plan, develop, organize, implement, and direct the financial and managerial accounting and reporting activities specific to CHMG and VBC Divisions - Triad Healthcare Network (THN) and Value Based Care Institute (VBCI), as well as participate in strategic and/or operational systemwide projects/activities of Cone Health. This role requires an innovative leader with strategic acumen, excellent analytical expertise and financial acumen, and a collaborative approach to support the divisions' efforts, growth, and mission.
Essential Job Function
- Works closely with the System CFO, Division Executive leaders, and other leaders regarding daily operational matters, which include risk management, financial modeling, physician compensation and contracts, financial outcomes of population health efforts and offer financial insights to areas opportunities and assisting with financial strategic plans for growth and market opportunities.
- Leads a team of finance professionals supporting the physician and VBC function to execute on various financial/general accounting duties, managerial accounting duties, reimbursement/revenue accounting, duties, and VBC accounting and reporting duties.
- Responsible for the coordination of Division activities with other Financial Services functions throughout Cone Health including budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and reporting, to ensure realization of overall goals and objectives of the entire Financial Services organization within Cone Health.
- Responsible for participating in the development of programs within the accounting curriculum and then teaching or assisting in teaching these programs in scheduled sessions with the accounting staff of Cone Health and ensure that division accounting staff are following through on the learnings and tools provided in these sessions.
- Supports CFO on various initiatives as needed.
- Serves on select committees and teams across the enterprise to further key initiatives or to develop or monitor policies.
- Presents financial results and information to various forums and leadership or physician groups across the enterprise.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education
- Required: Master's degree in business, finance, accounting, health administration, or related field; with bachelor's degree. Or, bachelor's degree in accounting with CPA or CMA.
Experience
- Required: Ten or more years of progressive experience in related work, including physician group and/or value-based care organization, with management duties and responsibility.
- Preferred: Accounting and management related duties and responsibilities in the healthcare field or multi-provider healthcare system setting, payer entity, or accountable care organization.
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required: Valid Driver's license
- Preferred: Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
