What To Expect

As an innovation leader, we look for ambitious, forward-thinking, open-minded, and well-rounded individuals to join our global team. We are currently looking for a Recruiter / HR Generalist. Based in our Greenville, SC location and reporting to the Talent Acquisition Supervisor, Americas (with a dotted line to the HR Director), you will drive Gates's talent acquisition strategy through sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding candidates for production and professional positions across a variety of U.S. production facilities (75%). You will also support onsite HR activities at the Greenville, SC location (25%).

Key Responsibilities (to name a few)

Talent Acquisition / Recruitment (75%)



  • You will partner with key stakeholders (hiring managers, HR Business Partners, compensation, benefits, etc.) to establish full-cycle talent acquisition plans and develop candidate pipelines for current and future needs.
  • You'll be responsible for maintaining the applicant tracking system (ATS), driving Gates's recruiting process, and meeting Global Recruiting Service Level Agreements (SLAs) (e.g., time to fill).
  • Source active and passive candidates using a variety of channels, such as Indeed, LinkedIn, and other talent acquisition platforms.
  • Evaluate applicants' fit by conducting interviews, analyzing responses, and verifying references to ensure alignment with job requirements.
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders, including recruitment vendors (background checks, medical checks, psychometric tests, and job boards), to support talent sourcing.
  • Collaborate with the hiring manager and HR partners during the offer process by identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details.
  • Support campus recruiting, employer branding, regional career fairs, DE&I, and other talent acquisition projects as needed.



Human Resources Support (25%)



  • With guidance from the HR Director, conduct objective investigations to resolve employee issues.
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance for facility leadership (e.g., coaching, counseling, and disciplinary action).
  • Assist with managing the leave of absence process, including explaining leave policies and procedures, responding to questions, and participating in interactive discussions with employees.
  • Coordinate and lead the Employee Engagement Committee.
  • Provide HR support primarily for 1st shift and a mixed shift schedule. Flexible hours are required, and you must be able to work extended hours and/or modified shifts to support plant events and activities.

Requirements and Preferred Skills

  • 3 years of progressive Human Resources related experience including full-cycle recruiting experience.
  • An undergraduate degree is required, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a non-union environment managing day-to-day HR activities.
  • Recruiting Agency and/or manufacturing experience, preferred.
  • Interpersonal and leadership skills - must be able to influence and coach across multiple levels at designated location.
  • Conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and candidates in the external marketplace.
  • Demonstrated understanding of HR regulatory environments, demonstrated understanding of employment laws related to recruiting and hiring.
  • Understanding and demonstrated expertise in recruiting principles and best practices.
  • Change management leadership capability.
  • Must possess a business orientation and strong interpersonal skills to support the management team and function as a business partner.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

  4. Eligible for 3 weeks of paid vacation + 11 holidays (9 scheduled & 2 floating) + 8 sick days. All vacation days are accrued
