Position Summary
The Neurosciences Clinical Trials Unit ( NCTU) in the Department of Neurology, is seeking a Physicians Assistant (PA) to support its clinical research study activities. This position is intended to carry out a limited set of APP-level (and other supporting) activities on neurology clinical research studies with the NCTU. Examples of these activities include (but not limited to):

-Lumbar punctures
-Intrathecal injections
-Post-injection observation (and response, as needed)
-Blood draws and processing
-Physical examinations and other assessments (including cognition and other neurological assessments)
-Documentation
-Data abstraction/entry
-Attending study team meetings
-Skin biopsies
-Injecting contrast or study drug(s) with observation
-Other duties as assigned in support of the NCTU clinical research studies.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Licensed to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of North Carolina.
Management Preferences
-Clinical research experience (including experience with electronic data capture systems, familiarity with the clinical research documents (protocols, IBs, etc.) or life cycle
-Extensive experience conducting APP-level activities (e.g., LPs, blood draws, intrathecal injections, post-injection observation, emergency response, specimen processing, documentation, or data abstraction/entry)
-Experience with neurology populations
