Who we are looking for:

We are currently searching for a Senior Finance Planning & Analysis Manager for Safety & Infrastructure (S&I) Business Unit to be based out of Harvey, IL. This role will report to the Business Unit VP Finance, the primary responsibility is to lead and develop the S&I planning, forecasting, analysis, management reporting for the S&I Business Unit.

The Sr. FP&A Manager will interact closely with international, commercial and manufacturing operations Controllers. In addition to financial process and performance management, the position will contribute, and in some areas provide leadership, in business planning and initiative deployment. The manager will interact with the Corporate Accounting and External Reporting departments to continuously improve accuracy, timeliness, and quality of financial reporting.

What you'll do:



  • Coordinate, manage and own the weekly & monthly forecast process; establish calendar, consolidate business forecasts, develop S&I Corp forecast and lead internal forecast meetings.
  • Coordinate, manage, and own the monthly business unit reporting process to ensure timely and accurate reporting. Employ tools such as Power BI to deliver impactful decision making financial and key metric data.
  • Manage and coordinate the annual budgeting and long range planning processes including calendar and deliverables, act as liaison with Corporate FP&A to ensure clear expectation and deliverables for these actions.
  • Document and develop standard work for the forecast and budgeting process for the BU to use.
  • Financial Reporting: Oversee financial S&I consolidated reporting with appropriate analysis as required. Manage all consolidated reporting to corporate for monthly, quarterly and year end closings, tax reporting, SEC reporting and various ad hoc reporting requirements to accurately reflect performance and results of the business. Ensure accurate and reliable information necessary to control operations.
  • Manage and develop FP&A talent.
  • Participate in key business initiatives and provide sound financial analysis
  • Provide financial tools and models to support decision making across the BU. Support M&A modeling and reporting efforts associated with acquisitions.
  • Provide JDE and Hyperion support to business as "superuser" for S&I
  • Lead continuous improvement through use of lean manufacturing principles throughout the financial processes.


What you'll bring:



  • Bachelor Degree in Finance or Accounting. MBA,CMA or CPA a plus.
  • 8-10 years of manufacturing experience with increasing responsibility in financial management, accounting, and FP&A.
  • Strong analytical and Excel skills
  • JDE, Hyperion and Power BI experience a plus
  • Excellent leadership skills and demonstrate an ability to work effectively with individuals of various skill sets.
  • Must possess the ability to think through situations, multi-task and stringent adherence to deadlines and due dates.
  • Strong capability in analysis, communication, and teamwork.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy of all reported/disseminated information.


Within 3 months you will:




  • Complete your Atkore Immersion program.
  • Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore's strategy utilizing Lean Daily Management and the Strategy Deployment Process.
  • Gain an understanding of the business and team you work with and support the processes and procedures your team owns.
  • Begin building relationships with key stakeholders and key collaborators across S&I and Atkore.


Within 6 months you will:




  • Manage the process and prepare the monthly forecast, including consolidation and analysis of inputs from the sales, manufacturing, and support functions.
  • Ensure S&I's monthly reporting packages are on time, accurate and meet corporate requirements
  • Work closely with S&I Leadership on various ad hoc requests including automation of reporting.
  • Manage and guide the work and development of the S&I FP&A Sr Financial Analyst


Within 12 months you will:




  • Identify ways to strengthen the team's commitment to Atkore's core values of Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect and Excellence.
  • Provide sound financial analysis as required to support S&I's forecasts, budgets, and monthly results.
  • Establish a roadmap for S&I's utilization of Power BI to improve and/or automate current BU reporting tools to provide meaningful trends, performance against targets and areas for improvement.

      As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $129,760 - $194,640 . Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
