Position Highlights

The Pinal County Cooperative Extension is looking for a Community Outreach Assistant II. The successful candidate will conduct outreach activities, events, and will work as part of a team to plan and implement hearing, vision, and developmental screenings for children birth to age five. This involves coordinating with multiple community partners. The successful candidate will be required to attend training and be certified to use required screening equipment. The successful candidate must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends. Position is located in Casa Grande, requiring field work/travel across Pinal County.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Gathers data
    and information to provide hearing, vision, and developmental assessments for
    children birth to age five.
  • Responsible for
    maintaining and updating all data gathered.
  • Utilizes the
    existing processes for gathering data to effectively provide assessments for
    children birth to age five.
  • Provide parent
    education related to hearing, vision, and developmental screenings for young
    children.
  • Provide
    administrative work answering telephones, providing routine information to
    callers about appropriate community resources.
  • Understand the
    existing curriculum and materials to effectively plan, deliver, and educate the
    program participants.
  • Assists with
    establishing contact for appointments, activities/events for outreach to
    potential clients.
  • Assist with inventory
    and requisitions for outreach program and services.
  • Assist with
    development of educational materials for instruction by watching training
    videos with the team and brainstorming as a group how to incorporate the
    information into the curriculum.

    handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Ability to
    communicate effectively with different groups/individuals.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school
    diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
  • Three years of
    relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work
    experience.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.
  • Must have a CPR/First Aid certificate.
  • Must possess or have the ability to acquire Level I Fingerprint Clearance Card from Arizona Department of Public Safety.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Five years experience in early childhood vocation or technical training.
