Responsible for the technical operation of the EEG Lab including collection of information pertinent to the interpretation of the tests, preparation of the patient, and records EEG in various exams and monitoring physiological response. Transports patients from various hospital departments to and from the Diagnostic Services Department.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. High School Diploma or equivalent. 2. CPR certification within 30 days of hire. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. ACLS EXPERIENCE: 1. One (1) year of patient care experience. CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. Prepares EEG tracing with patient history, marking montages and writing montages on each channel record. 2. Properly applies EEG electrodes, records sleep and awake EEG's. Detects artifacts and takes appropriate corrective action during EEG recording. 3. Assists with scheduling patients for EEG testing through physician and nursing units. 4. Logs, copies and files all test results. 5. Transports patients to/from Nursing Units and Diagnostic Services Department. Ability to operate the EEG lab requiring eye-hand coordination, finger dexterity, near, far, and night visions with extended visual concentration. 2. Frequent stooping, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time. 3. Ability to pull and push objects and patients of various weights. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1. Excellent oral and written communication skills. 2. Ability to interact effectively with a variety of healthcare providers and other contacts. 3. Ability to work successfully under highly stressful conditions and must be capable of adapting to varying workloads and work assignments on a constant basis.
