*Job Description: * *Mortgage Customer Service Representative (Early Stage Delinquency)* *Position Summary* The Mortgage Customer Service Representative supports borrowers in the early stages of delinquency by providing proactive outreach, education, and resolution options. This role plays a key part in helping customers avoid further delinquency while ensuring compliance with all servicing regulations and investor guidelines.
*Key Responsibilities* * Initiate outbound calls (15-30 daily) to borrowers identified on early-stage delinquency reports to discuss payment solutions and available assistance options. * Educate borrowers on repayment plans, loss mitigation options, and next steps to resolve delinquency. * Send required loss mitigation packages, notices, and breach/NOD (Notice of Default) letters in accordance with company procedures. * Generate and distribute late notices and other time-sensitive borrower communications. * Conduct initial pre-qualification reviews for loss mitigation programs. * Accurately document all borrower interactions and maintain detailed servicing notes. * Stay current on mortgage servicing regulations, agency guidelines, and industry best practices related to early-stage default. * Ensure compliance with FDCPA, CFPB expectations, and investor/agency requirements. * Safeguard borrower confidentiality and sensitive financial information at all times. * Assist with additional delinquency management and loss mitigation support tasks as needed. *Required Qualifications* * 1+ years of experience in mortgage servicing, residential loan collections, or related field * 1+ years of mortgage and/or real estate experience * 6+ months of experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) * Strong communication and negotiation skills with a customer-focused approach * Ability to manage a high volume of calls and time-sensitive tasks *Preferred Qualifications* * Experience with FNMA SMDU and FHLMC Workout Prospector * Familiarity with industry systems such as VALERI, FHA Connection, PACER, and HomeTracker * Knowledge of loss mitigation programs and investor-specific requirements *Core Competencies* * Customer service and empathy * Regulatory compliance awareness * Attention to detail and documentation accuracy * Time management and organization * Problem-solving and critical thinking *Work Environment* * Fast-paced, high-volume servicing environment * Role may require strict adherence to call metrics, compliance standards, and deadlines *Job Type & Location* This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Brighton, MN. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.27/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
