About Manatee Memorial Hospital (MMH):

Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Florida, has served the citizens of Manatee, Sarasota and surrounding counties for over 70 years. Part of the Manatee Healthcare System, the hospital has earned The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval. The 295-bed hospital with over 800 physicians, residents and allied health professionals, offers advanced healthcare services in a caring and compassionate environment. Services include cardiac care and cardiovascular medicine, emergency care for all ages, surgery services - including robotic-assisted surgery with the da Vinci Surgical System, a weight-loss program, orthopedic services, outpatient and inpatient radiology and rehabilitation, respiratory care, sleep, oncology, wound care and women's and children's services. Manatee Memorial Hospital also offers a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for babies with special needs.

Position Summary

The Cook is responsible for the preparation and cooking of food items for patients, cafeteria and catering, with emphasis on quality. Follows strict sanitation guidelines set up by the State of Florida Health Department.

Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times. Other duties as assigned.

Job Information

Prepares and garnish food for patients, cafeteria, and catering services, following standardized recipes.

Meets or exceeds quality standards through periodic tasting for palatability and consistency, cooking/serving temperatures, and visual inspection.

Follows appropriate menu and production guide for food.

Exhibits equipment utilization/safety, organization, and planning of production in food preparation to meet menu expectations.

Maintains food temperatures through entire preparation cycle.

Uses food-handling techniques as set in departmental policies and procedures.

Stores unused food items labeling and dating.

Reports needed repairs and/or supplies to manager.

Cleans all work spaces, ovens, fryers, grill, steam kettle, refrigerators, and stove following the posted cleaning schedule.

Attends departmental and other organizational meetings.

Follows the regulations required by the State, Medicare, The Joint Commission, and other regulatory organization.

Other duties as assigned that are reasonably within the scope of those enumerated above.
