Description

We are seeking a Director of Instructional Services to join our team.

Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000

This role acts as the co-leader for the Cornerstones of Care K-12 Day Treatment School Program. In addition to ensuring a trauma informed learning environment, this Director leads the development and implementation of rigorous, student-centered instructional programs that meet both academic and social-emotional needs. This role ensures that curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices are equitable and aligned with state standards and individualized education plans. The Director supports and mentors teachers to deliver high-quality instruction within a therapeutic framework. The Director also motivates team members to empower students to achieve academic success while building the skills necessary for lifelong learning and personal growth. The Director of Instructional Services collaborates with education program leaders to integrate therapeutic support into academic programming.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:



  • Supervise and support teaching staff in implementing instructional best practices and trauma-
  • informed classroom strategies that reflect the Sanctuary Model's principles.
  • Utilizes tools and systems to ensure timely and quality documentation is completed by team members.
  • Oversee curriculum development, lesson planning frameworks, and ensure adherence to state standards as well as individualized education programs (IEPs).
  • Monitor student academic progress, guide data-driven decision-making, and coordinate comprehensive academic assessments to inform interventions (example: STAR Assessment)
  • Design professional learning plans and facilitate ongoing teacher professional development to promote continuous growth and development.
  • Conducts regular walkthrough observations to monitor classroom management, student engagement, and adherence to trauma-informed practices, providing coaching and feedback to ensure consistency and safety across learning environments
  • Conduct formal teaching observations in alignment with school evaluation procedures, providing written feedback and coaching to ensure high-quality instruction and effective classroom management consistent with trauma-informed practices.
  • Maintains oversight of timely submission of grades during midterm and end of the quarter.
  • Coordinates BIST services with the assigned BIST consultant.
  • Uphold educational quality standards across academic programming.
  • Oversee the development of the K-12 master schedule
  • Oversee the development of the class rosters.
  • Ensures that teaching staff are implementing the AMI plan.
  • Attend and participate in IEP meetings as needed.
  • Implements classroom and building routines and practices to promote consistency, structure, smooth transitions.
  • Contributes academic progress and instructional updates to the monthly family communication.
  • Promotes Supports classroom and behavior management strategies; individualized student behavior plans to move the day treatment school towards being restraint free.
  • Works in collaboration with the Director of Student Services to monitor, communicate, and respond to student behavior concerns impacting instructional programming.
  • Partners with Build Trybe to ensure a range of educational experiences for students
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with the guidelines in the Student and Staff Handbook of the day treatment school.
  • Completes administrative job functions in a timely manner (i.e. credit card approvals, timecard approvals, paid time off requests).
  • Participate in agency wide leadership meetings.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Manager, Director of Student Services, and Process Coordinator(s) on reviewing referrals.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Manager to seamlessly integrate therapeutic support within the educational setting, fostering a safe and healing environment.
  • Collaborate with the Sr. Director of Education and Director of Student Services to ensure compliance with accreditation requirements (Cognia, Sanctuary, and COA).
  • Collaborate with the Sr. Director of Education on teacher licensure reporting.
  • Supports budget planning by identifying instructional priorities and partnering with the Director of Student Services to manage recurring expenses.
  • Other duties as assigned.


WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

Our ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of teaching experience in a special education setting and the following:



  • A master's degree in education, special education, or educational leadership is required
  • Valid Educational Administration Certification is strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience in a special education setting is required
  • Minimum 3-5 years of Supervisory or Leadership in a therapeutic, special education or alternative education setting is preferred
  • A comprehensive knowledge of trauma-informed practices and academic intervention strategies is essential
  • At least 21 years of age and pass background check, physical, and drug screening
  • A valid driver's license in the state you reside in, proof of current vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation.
