Job Summary
This position will be in the Quantitative Bioimaging Laboratory in the Department of Bioengineering at the University of Texas at Dallas. The candidate will be supervised by the principal investigator to perform research projects in biomedical imaging and quantitative image analysis. The candidate will work closely with graduate students and scientists in the research laboratory. The candidate will have the opportunity to learn different biomedical imaging techniques and image processing techniques.

Minimum Education and Experience

High school graduate or equivalent.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Background knowledge in biomedical imaging, image analysis, and molecular & cellular biology
  • Experience in computer programming, such as Python
  • Willingness to collaborate with other researchers and ability to be a strong team player
  • Ability to conduct research tasks independently under the supervision of the principal investigator, graduate students, and/or research associates
  • Excellent academic standing preferred
  • Prior experience in research laboratories, biotechnology and medicine, and cancer/healthcare-related fields is highly valued

To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The candidate will assist the principal investigator and perform imaging experiments and conduct image processing and analysis tasks. The candidate will collaborate with the graduate students and scientists in the laboratory and assist the data analysis and imaging experiments. The candidate will develop computational methods for image processing and analysis. The candidate will generate new data and analyze results that may be suitable for publications.
