SUMMARY

The Risk Modeling Analyst II plays a crucial role in supporting the Bank's risk modeling and analytics initiatives, in addition to providing assistance with CECL process as required. This position demands robust data analytical skills and involves assisting the Senior Vice President in managing, validating, and documenting various risk-based, accounting, or ALM treasury analytics.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complies with, and stays abreast of, all policies and procedures, federal and state laws applicable to the job.
  • Summarizes and analyzes large volumes of data in a meaningful and actionable manner.
  • Accurately documents system changes and follows procedures to ensure system integrity.
  • Creates and updates models as needed to assess and/or track the Bank's portfolio.
  • Formulates, drafts, and maintains accurate and current internal control procedures, programs, and related documentation.
  • Prepares analyses for submission to both internal and external management.
  • Assists and interfaces with examiners and auditors during regulatory examinations and internal audits.
  • Assists with the formulation and maintenance of model documentation and model validations.
  • Maintains awareness of Bank goals, regulatory and legislative developments, and financial industry audit control and trends.
  • Prepares and updates department compliance policies and procedures.
  • Analyzes current processes and modeling tools, identifies issues requiring corrective action, and oversees corrective actions in areas of responsibility.
  • Recommends tests and new or enhanced procedures as needs are identified.
  • Prepares reports according to established deadlines and handles ad hoc requests while managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Seeks ways to improve the Bank's internal processes and create cost efficiencies through report automation and streamlining of current reports to reduce redundancy.
  • Recommends and establishes standards, guidelines, and processes to improve system and reporting efficiencies.
  • Assists with special projects and/or investigations as they arise.
  • Constructs ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting.
  • Provide, present, and promote the Citizens Experience to all external and internal customers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; with major or concentration in either Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or similar areas of study; or two to four years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

This position requires strong communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to write reports, business correspondence, project plans and procedure manuals, as well as the ability to present information and respond to questions effectively. Requires the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical literature, and government regulations.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Requires strong analytical skills with the ability to work with mathematical concepts, such as probability and statistical inference, as well as the ability to apply these concepts to provide practical solutions.

REASONING ABILITY

Requires strong analytical skills with the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

COMPUTER & SOFTWARE SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a solid understanding of financial models; relational databases such as SQL and Access, advanced modeling skills using Microsoft Excel and Access, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word and with statistical software packages such as R and/or SAS.

  • Relational databases such as SQL and Access and advance Excel skills
  • Understanding with statistical software packages such as R and/or SAS.

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) as well as the ability to interact with all levels of management.
