Position Summary

Job Profile Summary

The Production Manager is accountable for the overall operation and performance of all value streams; including safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people development. The role leads day-to-day execution and long-term improvement using the Parker Lean System (PLS) and Win Strategy to maximize profitable growth, reduce cost and lead time, and deliver premier customer service. Accountable for compliance with applicable EHS, quality, regulatory, and industry standards.

  • Ensure a safe work environment and full compliance with site safety requirements; reinforce safe behaviors and ensure corrective actions are implemented
  • Drive quality performance through standard work, built-in quality, problem solving, and sustained corrective action
  • Establish and maintain daily, weekly and monthly manufacturing measures
  • Determine root causes for manufacturing variance and establish corrective actions to ensure optimum plant performance
  • Implement and sustain PLS within the value streams.
  • Strengthen supervisor and team leader effectiveness through targeted coaching, development, and a culture of continuous learning
  • Utilize and understand the SIOP process to model labor and equipment capacity vs demand.
  • Manage labor and equipment capacities to efficiently meet demand
  • Partner with plant staff to drive execution of the WIN Strategy, ensuring alignment with its vision, intent, and performance goals
  • Minimal travel is required

Qualifications

Competencies

Required

  • Operational leadership in a manufacturing environment, with the ability to manage daily execution and drive long-term improvement while ensuring compliance with applicable EHS, quality, regulatory, and industry standards

  • Effective interpersonal, communication, coaching, mentoring and leadership skills

  • Working knowledge of industry processes and equipment along with knowledge of quality and material (MRP) systems and their management abilities

  • Knowledge of internal and external specifications

Preferred

  • Process knowledge in the areas of metal prep, rubber to metal bonding, mechanical assembly, paint, inspection, etc.

Work Experience

Required

  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment

  • 3+ years of manufacturing leadership experience

Preferred

  • Prior leadership experience in a rubber to metal bonding manufacturing facility

Education

Required

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • Master's degree in Business or Engineering

Certifications

Required

  • None

Preferred

  • Six-Sigma, Green or Black Belt certification

Languages

Required

  • English

This position falls within the scope of the FM Drug and Alcohol program and potential employees must pass FAA Drug Screen upon hire and submit to random testing as required.
