This role is well-suited for detail-oriented professionals who thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment and are committed to delivering a high-quality, patient-centered experience. The Technical Assistant functions as an integral member of the imaging team, working under the direction of the department Manager/Supervisor to ensure seamless workflow and operational efficiency. This position requires strong organizational capability, effective time management, and the ability to multitask while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism. Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills are essential to support both patient interaction and team collaboration. In this full-time capacity, the Technical Assistant partners closely with Radiologic Technologists to support the imaging process from start to finish. Responsibilities include transporting patients to and from imaging areas, assisting with patient preparation, and providing clear communication to ensure patients feel informed, safe, and comfortable throughout their experience. This role plays a critical part in enhancing patient throughput while maintaining quality and safety standards. Additionally, the Technical Assistant supports image processing workflows and collaborates with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care effectively. The ability to operate both independently and within a team-based environment is essential to meet departmental performance goals and service expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily operations of Imaging Services to ensure efficient workflow
- Transport patients safely to and from imaging procedures
- Assist with patient preparation and provide clear communication regarding procedures
- Promote patient comfort, safety, and a positive overall experience
- Assist Radiologic Technologists with imaging-related tasks as needed
- Support image processing and documentation workflows
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate patient care
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous related experience preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required for Imaging Services
- Strong multitasking, prioritization, and time management skills preferred
