Job Summary SUMMARY The Nuclear Medicine Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the Nuclear Medicine department to ensure clinical excellence, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and exceptional patient care delivery. This role provides direct supervision of Nuclear Medicine staff, manages workflow, and ensures optimal utilization of imaging resources. The Supervisor exercises a high degree of independent judgment and discretion to maintain patient safety, radiation safety standards, quality control compliance, and staff performance. This position prioritizes patient examinations and departmental resources in alignment with hospital demand, clinical urgency, and service-level expectations. The Nuclear Medicine Supervisor partners with Radiologists, physicians, nursing leadership, and multidisciplinary teams to drive quality outcomes, enhance patient experience, and support organizational performance improvement initiatives. QUALIFICATIONS Education
- Associate's degree in Radiologic Sciences, Nuclear Medicine Technology, or related Health Sciences field required
OR - Two (2) years of college coursework in Radiologic Sciences, Health Sciences, or Healthcare Administration required
OR - Four (4) years of directly related experience in lieu of college coursework
- Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Sciences, Nuclear Medicine Technology, or related field preferred
Experience
- Minimum of six (6) years of Nuclear Medicine or job-related imaging experience required
- At least two (2) years in a leadership or supervisory capacity required
- Prior supervisory/leadership experience strongly preferred
Licensure & Certification
- Current registration in Nuclear Medicine through one of the following governing bodies:
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) - Nuclear Medicine (N)
- Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
- Must maintain active modality-specific certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association required
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
- Advanced knowledge of Nuclear Medicine procedures, radiopharmaceutical handling, radiation safety, and regulatory compliance standards
- Demonstrated ability to perform and oversee all technical operations within Nuclear Medicine
- Strong understanding of quality assurance, equipment calibration, and performance standards
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong organizational, analytical, and prioritization skills
- Proven ability to lead teams, drive accountability, and foster collaboration
- Participation in organizational Performance Improvement initiatives required
