We currently have an opening in our Clarksburg, MD office for an experienced Senior Manager of Manufacturing Operations, reporting directly to the Director of Manufacturing. This position may have multiple production lines producing a diverse portfolio of products and is responsible for some or all phases of manufacturing that may include SMT assembly, circuit card assembly and test, final assembly, battery/accessory assembly and all process development activities.

Responsibilities




  • Managesday-to-day manufacturing operationsto meet both internal and external customer commitments.Works with Concurrent, Test and Manufacturing Engineering on efficiency opportunities within the factory, supporting Continuous Improvement meetings and Lean Manufacturing objectives.
  • Works with Director of Manufacturing and HR to ensure proper staffing levels are maintained to support delivery schedules.
  • Participatesin budget and financial monitoring activities(such as labor variance and Scrap)for span of control Direct and indirect budget development. Provides recommendations for strategic planning.
  • Ensures products are built on schedule to our strict customer requirements andas directed by the Director of Manufacturing.
  • Achieves manufacturing objectives by managing to established schedules and by communicating and enforcing policies, operating procedures, and individual responsibilities.
  • Monitors operational efficiencies, yields, and other data reports to guide labor efforts to meet or exceed standards.
  • Monitors and tracks Work In Process (WIP) and reports on status.
  • Communicate with all levels of the organization.



Supervisory Responsibilities

The principal duty of this position is to provide day-to-day manufacturing supervision, leadership and support to the business, ensuring smooth and efficient operations in accordance with the organization's operating policies and applicable laws. This will require the incumbent to continually search for opportunities to enhance production processes and the product using a variety of problem-solving techniques, effective interpersonal and communication skills, along with technical competency. Incumbent will motivate, coach and encourage employees to optimize career development and personal satisfaction. The Manager will promote excellent employee relations and empowerment of all manufacturing personnel. This role must be able to effectively create and execute staffing plans for perimeter.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship required. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • BS/BA degree in Engineering or Related Technical Field preferred; Associates Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Must have 5+ years manufacturing electro/mechanical experience with at least 5 years in management.
  • Experience with electronics and have a working knowledge of surface mount technology (SMT).
  • Experience using ERP Systems. SAP S4/Hana experience preferred.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Concepts such as Flow, Visual Management, 5S, Kanban, Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis, etc. and demonstrated experience using Lean techniques for process improvement.
  • Able to demonstrate willingness and ability to engage production employees in problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Must be able to read and understand specification control drawings, source control drawings, Manufacturing Work Instructions, and Test Procedures.
  • Must have working knowledge of IPC and J-STD workmanship standards.
  • Proficient in the development and use of Leader Standard Work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications - Fluent in English.

The annualized pay range for this role is $155,338.20 - $198,487.70 along with a target incentive compensation plan (ICP) of 10%. The pay range provided is a good faith estimate representative of the experience level for the role described above.TDSI considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
