Responsibilities & Expectations: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Indirect Tax Accountant to oversee our sales and property tax processes. This role will act as the primary liaison with our third-party tax provider, ensuring accurate and timely data delivery, review, and approval of indirect tax filings. The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge, analytical skills, and the ability to manage deadlines across multiple jurisdictions. * Manage the end-to-end indirect tax process for sales/use tax and property tax in coordination with a third-party provider * Prepare, validate, and deliver accurate tax data to external partners for return preparation * Review and approve sales tax and property tax filings prior to submission * Ensure compliance with all state and local tax regulations and deadlines * Reconcile tax accounts, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues in a timely manner * Maintain and improve tax-related processes, controls, and documentation * Monitor changes in tax laws and assess impact on the business * Support audits by gathering documentation and responding to inquiries * Partner with internal teams (Accounting, Finance, Operations, IT) to ensure accurate tax treatment and reporting * Provide taxability research support to our internal team Qualifications and Competencies: * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field * 3-5 years of experience in indirect tax (sales/use and/or property tax) * Experience working with third-party tax compliance providers (e.g., Avalara, Vertex, or similar) * Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills * High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines * Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large data sets * Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally Preferred Qualifications: * Experience in a multi-entity or multi-state environment * Experience supporting tax audits * Experience working with third-party tax compliance providers (e.g., Avalara, Vertex, or similar) You'll thrive at IPS if you... * Lead with integrity and prioritize safety.
