Overview

Element has an opportunity for an Associate Engineer, EMC/RF to support regulatory compliance testing of wireless and electronic devices. These roles require proficiency in various core business and technical skills, including but not limited to, compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies / procedures. This role involves hands-on RF and EMC testing, execution of standardized test procedures, data analysis, and support of FCC and international certification programs across a wide range of technologies and industries.

Salary Range:

$28 - $38 p/hour (non-exempt)

Varied Work Shifts:

7am - 4pm ET

3pm - 12am ET (includes 10% shift differential)



Responsibilities

    Perform EMC and RF compliance testing in accordance with applicable regulatory and standards requirements
  • Operate spectrum analyzers and related RF test equipment for radiated and conducted emissions and transmitter measurements
  • Set up, configure, and troubleshoot test setups in anechoic chambers, shielded enclosures, and open-area test sites
  • Learn and maintain knowledge of EMC/RF standards and practices
  • Collect, analyze, and document test data; support the preparation and review of regulatory compliance test reports
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and customers to resolve technical and compliance-related issues
  • Travel up to 15% for training, intersite collaboration, customer support, or project-specific needs


Skills / Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, STEM, or a related technical field from an ABETaccredited institution, or equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge of laboratory safety and some regulatory requirements across major regions, including FCC (U.S.), ISED Canada, and EU directives
  • Experience using HW and RF lab equipment, such as: Oscilloscope, DC power analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, Vector Network
  • Analyzer, Signal Generator and Cellular Communication Tester
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail with the ability to follow standardized test methods and produce accurate, repeatable results
