About the role:

As a Senior Engineer you will lead finite element analysis (FEA) for the repair, modification, and qualification of safetyrelated components in primary reactor coolant systems, supporting operating plants and AP1000 designs.

You will report to the Manager of Advanced Analysis and Methods and be located at Cranberry, PA and can work in a hybrid environment.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute design and analysis plans from preliminary through final design, translating performance and structural requirements into compliant engineering solutions using lessons learned and best practices.
  • Qualify component designs using ANSYS-based thermal and structural FEA, closedform analytical methods, and Westinghouse internal engineering.
  • Improve analysis quality and efficiency by implementing advanced methods, automation, and innovative tools.
  • Collaborate with systems, manufacturing, and component teams to ensure effective subsystem integration and resolve complex design and production issues.
  • Partner with project managers and technical leads to align technical scope, schedules, and resources across programs.
  • Demonstrate accountability, delivering highquality engineering work that meets safety, quality, and schedule expectations.



Qualifications:

  • We will consider BS in Mechanical Engineering, (alternate degrees such as nuclear, aerospace, structural engineering with relevant experience).
  • Proficiency in ANSYS Workbench and at least a familiarity with ANSYS Mechanical (APDL).
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience required or 4 with an advanced degree.
  • PE License (Preferred).



We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be 85,200 to 106,500 per year.
