Role Summary
The SAP S/4HANA Solution Architect for Project Velocity is responsible for defining, governing, and safeguarding the end-to-end solution architecture for CenterPoint Energy's multi-year SAP S/4HANA transformation. This role provides architectural leadership across business processes, system integration, and platform architecture, ensuring alignment to enterprise standards, clean-core principles, and long-term scalability.
The Solution Architect acts as a senior architectural authority, partnering with business leaders, program leadership, and delivery partners to translate business strategy into a cohesive, integrated SAP and non?SAP solution landscape that is audit?ready, upgrade?friendly, and future?focused.

Key Responsibilities
End?to?End Solution Architecture
  • Define and maintain the overall solution architecture for SAP S/4HANA and its connected ecosystem, ensuring consistency across business processes, integrations, and platforms.
  • Provide architectural oversight across end?to?end value streams, ensuring solutions support standardized enterprise processes rather than localized customization.
  • Ensure alignment to clean?core SAP design principles, minimizing custom code and enabling long?term maintainability and flexibility.

Integration Architecture
  • Define and govern the integration architecture across SAP and non?SAP systems, including SAP S/4HANA, Field Service Management (FSM), CIS, CRM, Coupa, GIS, and other enterprise platforms.
  • Establish and enforce standard integration patterns, APIs, and messaging approaches using SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and approved middleware solutions.
  • Partner with security and infrastructure teams to ensure integrations meet enterprise security, resiliency, and compliance standards.


Data Architecture & Migration Governance
  • Provide architectural governance and design direction for the data migration approach, ensuring alignment with target business processes, clean?core principles, and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and approve data?related architecture decisions, including historical data strategy, master data alignment, and data dependencies across functional domains.
  • Partner with the Data Migration Lead to ensure the migration approach supports solution integrity and end?to?end process outcomes.

Platform & Infrastructure Architecture
  • Align platform and infrastructure architecture decisions to support SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, and future scalability.
  • Partner with Basis, cloud, and enterprise platform teams to ensure performance, availability, security, and regulatory requirements are addressed by design.
  • Influence platform choices to enable future capabilities such as automation, advanced analytics, and AI.


Governance, Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Serve as a core member of architecture and design governance forums (e.g., Solution Authority Board, Enterprise Architecture Board).
  • Partner closely with functional, technical, integration, and platform teams to ensure architectural coherence across all delivery workstreams.
  • Clearly communicate architecture decisions, trade?offs, risks, and impacts to executive and senior leadership audiences.
  • Facilitate architecture and design workshops to drive alignment and disciplined decision?making across business and technology stakeholders.

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco by Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;
  • office location and other geographic considerations;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco by Highspring believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure.
