Description

We are seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in authorization processing and working knowledge of various medical insurance plans to support Ophthalmology's Retina Division in Westwood. This role is primarily focused on insurance authorization processing and serves as back-up support for surgical coordination. The position plays a key role in ensuring timely approvals and supporting smooth surgical operations for a multi-specialty clinic. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



  • Process and track insurance verifications and obtain required prior authorizations
  • Communicate with insurance providers to ensure timely approval and resolve authorization-related issues
  • Serve as a resource to patients regarding insurance coverage and requirements
  • Provide back-up support for coordinating and scheduling patient surgical procedures
  • Assist with scheduling pre-operative testing and related appointments as needed
  • Collaborate with physicians, clinical staff, and external facilities to support efficient workflow
  • Provide general administrative support to ensure smooth daily operation



Salary Range: $30.36-43.49 Hourly
Qualifications

Our ideal candidate will have strong background in authorizations, referral coordination, and direct collaboration with providers, ideally gained within a fast-paced medical setting, who can effectively navigate complex clinical environment.

* Skill in setting priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities

* Ability to establish and maintain and productive working relationships with Faculty, Staff, Administration and patients from various social, cultural and economic backgrounds.

* Ability to creatively integrate competing demands into a productive working environment.

* Skill in verbal communications to clearly convey complex problems in both formal and informal situations.

* Ability to interact diplomatically and sympathetically with a patient population in varying degrees of health

Preferred:

* Working knowledge of patient related policies and procedures as well as a thorough understanding of the University system and it services and programs.

* Knowledge of hospital computer system, and personal computer systems and the various software products to perform administrative work.
