Annual Compensation: $356,000 to $372,500 Base + production + Quality Incentive

Position Summary

The Neurobehavioral Neurologist is a key member of the Multicare Neuroscience Institute, specializing in the care of patients with neurobehavioral and neurocognitive disorders. This physician provides comprehensive outpatient assessment and long-term management for individuals with conditions such as Alzheimer's disease, frontotemporal dementia, vascular cognitive impairment, and other neurodegenerative or neuropsychiatric syndromes. The role involves collaboration with neuropsychology, psychiatry, social work, and rehabilitation services to deliver integrated, patient-centered care.
The position supports the diagnosis and continuum of care for neurobehavioral disorders, utilizing advanced neuroimaging, cognitive testing, and pharmacological as well as non-pharmacological interventions. Opportunities exist for participating in interdisciplinary case conferences, contributing to clinical pathways, and engaging in clinical research or medical education within a collegial, multidisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and manage patients with neurobehavioral and neurocognitive disorders, including dementias, neuropsychiatric syndromes, and cognitive impairment due to neurological disease
  • Order, interpret, and synthesize diagnostic studies such as brain MRI, PET scans, EEG, neuropsychological assessments, and relevant laboratory workups
  • Initiate and monitor pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments, including cognitive enhancers, behavioral interventions, and symptomatic therapies
  • Coordinate care with neuropsychology, psychiatry, speech and occupational therapy, social work, and primary care providers
  • Educate patients and families on disease progression, treatment options, prognosis, and strategies for daily functioning and quality of life
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, neurobehavioral-focused quality improvement initiatives, and case conferences
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Contribute to teaching programs, peer consultation, and development of clinical protocols and care pathways

Requirements

  • Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) from an accredited institution
  • Completion of neurology residency and fellowship training in behavioral neurology, neuropsychiatry, or related subspecialty preferred
  • Board certified or board eligible in Neurology
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in Washington State by employment start date
  • DEA registration, NPI, and prescriptive authority
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $356,000.00 - $372,500.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
