Genesis10 is currently seeking a Lead Information Security Engineer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC, Chandler, AZ or Las Colinas, TX. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

This role will serve as a technical lead and subject matter expert for securing a very large, highly complex enterprise network environment with a significant internet presence and extensive public and private cloud connectivity. The individual will be responsible for designing, implementing, and sustaining scalable network security controls across an environment that includes segmented internal networks, internet-facing services, and hybrid cloud platforms. You will provide expert-level guidance on network security architecture, participate in enterprise architecture and risk reviews, and work with partner teams to ensure alignment with security and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise and in-depth engineering knowledge to large complex infrastructure technology efforts and ensure appropriate security solutions are in place
  • Utilize best industry practices to guide solutions to meet policy requirements for infrastructure security
  • Identify security concerns and issues with network, application and services solutions
  • Lead complex strategy and design efforts, leading engineering and technical discussions for gathering data and information
  • Lead computer security incident response activities for highly complex events
  • Conduct technical investigation of security related incidents and post-incident digital forensics to identify causes and recommend future mitigation strategies
  • Provide security consulting on large projects for internal clients to ensure conformity with corporate information security policy and standards
  • Design, document, test, maintain, and provide issue resolution recommendations for highly complex security solutions related to networking, AI, cloud, authentication, email, internet, applications, and endpoint security
  • Review and correlate security logs and identify security vulnerabilities and issues, perform risk assessments, and evaluate remediation alternatives
  • Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including managers and lead a team to achieve objectives

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of Information Security Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Deep hands-on experience with enterprise firewall platforms (e.g., Palo Alto, Check Point, Cisco, Fortinet)
  • Strong expertise in firewall policy design, rule lifecycle management, and traffic segmentation
  • Experience with Network Intrusion Detection/Prevention (IDS/IPS), secure web gateways and proxy technologies, and network load balancers and edge security controls
  • Advanced understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, NTP, SSL/TLS, and VPN technologies
  • Experience securing cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP), including virtual networks, cloud firewalls, and private connectivity (VPN, Direct Connect, ExpressRoute)
  • Practical experience implementing Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), Micro/Macro Segmentation, and Network Access Control (NAC)
  • Strong ability to translate security policy and standards into enforceable network controls, perform threat modeling, and review network designs for security gaps
  • Strong familiarity with security frameworks and expectations such as NIST CSF / NIST 800-53, CIS Critical Security Controls, and FFIEC / financial services regulatory guidance

Desired skills:

  • Experience managing security controls at a large enterprise scale
  • Familiarity with automation (Python, IaC, firewall-as-code)
  • Experience evaluating or onboarding new security technologies
  • Experience producing network security design documentation, architecture diagrams, and control rationales
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor engineers
  • Experience supporting audits, regulatory exams, and internal control testing
  • Industry certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, PCNSE, CCNP Security, CCIE Security, GIAC (GCIA, GCIH), or cloud security certifications (AWS/Azure Security)

Pay range: $59.53 - $67.53 per hour
