The Post Partum unit (Blake 13) is seeking a full time 40 hours PCA for rotating day and evening shifts, including rotating weekend and holiday requirements.
Schedule: Days (7am-3pm7am-7pm), Evening (3pm-11pm), and Nights (7pm-7am, 11pm-7am) Mandatory weekend shifts every month. Holiday rotating schedule. PCA assists patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support, while promoting comfort and maintaining patient dignity. Responsibilities also include monitoring and documenting vital signs, obtaining EKGs, drawing blood, and responding promptly to patient requests while safeguarding confidentiality and always ensuring patient safety. Does this position require Patient Care? Yes Essential Functions *Performs vital signs, weights/heights, intakes, and outputs with accuracy and within established time frame and/or as requested. *Complete all documentation in the medical record as required. *Interacts with patients and their families effectively. *Helps patients with several basic hygiene tasks. This may include bathing and dressing patients, helping them use the toilet if needed, and feeding them. *Assist with helping patients turn and reposition themselves in bed as needed and help them move between the bed and a wheelchair if they use one. *Listen to any health concerns patients may have and report those concerns to the nurses. Education High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Basic Life Support [BLS] - Generic - HR Only preferred Experience Patient Care Experience 0-1 year preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Understands his/her role in relation to providing patient care activities. - Understands hospital, division and unit policies and procedures and utilizes these in providing care. - Communicates effectively with the staff and all members of interdisciplinary health care team. - Communicates effectively with patients/significant others in providing patient care.
