The Banta Group of the Chemical Engineering Department at Columbia University is seeking to fill a Postdoctoral Research Scientist opening as a part of a project that aims to rationally design and use directed evolution approaches to engineer light-responsive DNA polymerase enzymes. This open position will be advised by Prof. Scott Banta To be considered for this position, candidates should have received a PhD in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or a related field by July 2026. Technical skill sets in protein engineering, enzymology, and biotechnology are valuable for this project. Additionally, candidates should enjoy working in a team environment, possess excellent written and oral communication skills, and be prepared to develop leadership skills through mentoring younger students, assisting with reports, and coordinating project activities.
