Application Programmer

Genesis10 is currently seeking an Application Programmer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC or Plano, TX. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

This role is focused on developing and maintaining applications within Financial Crimes technology. The ideal candidate will work with business partners to define requirements, design and code solutions, and support the full development lifecycle. This position involves extensive data sourcing, analysis, and modeling using technologies like Teradata, Informatica, and Hadoop in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, enhance, modify, and/or maintain applications in the Financial Crimes technology space
• Design, code, test, debug, and document programs and support activities for application maintenance
• Work closely with business partners in defining requirements for system applications
• Utilize in-depth knowledge of business requirements and technological alternatives to recommend innovations
• Provide insight and direction from a data perspective, assess impacts on technology systems, and participate in the full development lifecycle
• Handle technical aspects of the application, including Change Management, Maintenance, Platform Upgrades, and requirement changes
• Work with a team of Data Analysts and Developers to ensure best practices and governance are followed
• Partner with the business to develop plans to sustain change, analyze present-state, and develop future-state approaches

Requirements:

• Typically requires 10+ years of applicable experience
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or any quantitative discipline
• Experience in Teradata 16.x, SQL/BTEQ scripting, TPT, Informatica 10.x, UNIX Shell scripting, and Autosys
• Experience with Cloudera CDP, Hadoop (Hive, Impala, PySpark, Scala) and Data analysis
• Strong data sourcing, data modelling, and provisioning skills to support large scale AML monitoring and surveillance data assets
• Experience with database intensive development, data migrations, conversions, and SQL performance tuning
• Experience in SDLC, Agile, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CICD) using tools like Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Artifactory, and Ansible
• Good knowledge of Unix and development of shell scripts
• Business knowledge in financial domains related to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Financial Crimes
• Effective communication and listening skills

Pay range: $55.06 - $63.06 per hour
