The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

The role of the Professional Registered Nurse is to provide quality nursing care in collaboration with the medical staff and within the guidelines of the New Jersey State Nurse Practice Act,

It is the responsibility of the Professional Nurse to implement the Hospital s Mission and goals through established policies, procedures and performance improvement activities,

Implementation of these goals occurs through organization and administration of individualized age specific professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit of the hospital,

The understanding of the principles of growth and development will be incorporated to assess each patient s age specific needs and determine age specific treatment modalities,

Current New Jersey License required,

Current BLS required,

ACLS and PALS required,

Successful completion of all Orientation Programs and competency with documentation,

Additional experience training may be required based on departmental specific needs,

Hazards include risk exposure to communicable disease, hazardous materials and physical injury,

Must meet requirements of the ADA,

All patient related hospital departments, patients, families, visitors, nursing personnel and medical staff,

Job Specific Requirements

Adheres to schedule case start times,

Administers medications appropriately,

Assists with the precepting of new employees,

Communicates patient s current status throughout the continuing of care,

Communicates pertinent patient information to appropriate individual i,

Completes room turn over within department benchmark

Complies with unit and departmental scheduling policies,

Delegates and prioritizes work assignments according to the individual staff s competence and patient care needs,

Ensures patient s environment is orderly and all excess equipment is removed,

Sends patient belongings to security as appropriate,

Ensures surgical environment is orderly and excess equipment supplies are removed,

Restocks room as needed,

Ensures that all orders are transcribed properly, cosigns UC orders, and performs quality charts checks,

Evaluates effectiveness, interventions and revises plan of care accordingly,

Implements the policies and procedures of the hospital and Nursing Department

Participates in quality review, infection control, safety performance improvement projects,

Performs all other duties as assigned

Performs assessment and reassessment of patients according to department standards and regulatory standards,

Promotes the professional image of nursing through community activities hospital committees, community outreach, PAS involvement, certification, etc,

Provides appropriate education according to patient family needs,

Provides hand off communication to different level of care and relief personnel,

Provides patient family education according to the plan of care and documents the same,

Seeks learning experience to enhance professional skills and communicates to team members
