The Area Manufacturing Manager plays a critical role in partnering with the corporate Electrical Reliability and Turbine Technology team to ensure the reliability and continuous optimization of power distribution equipment across containerboard mills with a focus on gas and steam turbine maintenance and repair. This position collaborates closely with mill leadership, corporate electrical engineers, and reliability experts to drive initiatives that strengthen system performance and support operational excellence.



Principal Accountabilities:



  • Partner with colleagues in the group to implement and complete priorities for electrical power distribution with primary focus on reliability, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Assist with technology implementation of major process/reliability improvements in all areas.
  • Lead electrical design efforts for capital projects including scope development, application sizing, detailed design, and functional specifications.
  • Provide construction, commissioning and startup support.
  • Assist in the development of Standards, Specifications, and Best Practices.
  • Provide Mill technical support for the troubleshooting of electrical equipment failures involving electrical power distribution systems.
  • Troubleshoot turbine operations, dismantling and inspection of turbines and ancillary parts, reassembly of turbines with proper set up and clearance dimensions.
  • Provide oversite and direction to mill and contract personnel.
  • Manage budgets and inventory of spare parts.



Requirements:



  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant industry experience.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in the electrical industry supporting pulp/paper industry.
  • Strong Troubleshooting Skills - Safe Electrical Work Practices must be followed.
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA 70E and NEC requirements.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook and CAD required.
  • Strong verbal and communication skills.
  • Must be able to travel over 75% of the time.



Preferred Skills:



  • Experience in project management preferred
  • Working knowledge of SKM power system analysis preferred.
  • Must have a strong background with medium voltage switchgear and motors.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS




  • Starting salary range for position: $129,500-$185,000
  • Bonus: Annual - Based upon individual contribution and overall, Company performance.
  • Paid Vacation: Three (3) weeks per calendar year. Pro-rata Vacation during the initial year of hire based upon start date within the calendar year.
