GENERAL FUNCTION

The Senior Technology Manager for Rx Manufacturing is the key driver of process standardization across the US industrial lab network following defined standards for one or more main processes (Surfacing, HC, AR and Finishing). This includes defining necessary pilots when implementing new processes/equipment/consumables and guiding a community of technical professionals to achieve the zone's performance goals. Monitor the level of the lab standardization, share the best practices, and ensure proper implementation. Ensure that all PCP's are understood, respected, and tracked properly while supporting the lab to reach "best in class" quality and consumables consumption in one or more workshops.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Conducts facility and process design reviews to achieve improved methods, layouts, and workflows.
  • Establishes labor standards through software driven time study, to ensure service commitments are maintained or exceeded and manpower planning are accurate.
  • Develops SOPs/work instructions for all processing areas.
  • Drive one or more Techno Clubs, monitor the level of the lab standardization, benchmark, share the best practices and ensure their implementation.
  • Evaluates and designs new layouts for storage racks, pick modules, and other material handling solutions for the facility.
  • Identifies opportunities and leads process improvement projects to drive cost savings.
  • Fosters a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Analyzes labor data, finance data, and key metrics to make improvement recommendations and conducts cost/benefit analysis.
  • Performs supervisory and managerial functions in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
  • Facilitates LEAN methodology and recommends solutions to specific business case issues.
  • Understands and applies essential LEAN elements like workflow smoothing, JIT, and Jidoka.
  • Leads lean initiatives using proven industry methods and tools such as SixSigma, DMAIC, value-stream mapping, and 5S.
  • Educates team members in LEAN expanding knowledge base to support and develop a sustainable continual improvement culture.
  • Works with leadership to drive continual improvement programs, Kaizen events, and workshops.
  • Sets the standard for innovation within strategic and operational problem solving.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



  • BS in Industrial, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
  • 7+ years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively communicate process and technical concepts to a variety of audiences from entry level warehouse employee to executive level
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel
  • Ability to talk, hear and communicate
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds
  • Ability to frequently work in both an office and warehouse setting
  • Ability to occasionally be exposed to moving mechanical parts
  • Ability to regularly be exposed to ambient lighting and temperate climate conditions
