Job Description




The Armed Security Operations Specialist (Specialist) is tasked with safeguarding the Allied Universal Enhanced Protection Services client in Portland, Oregon. The Security Operations Specialist position requires individuals who can perform in a dynamic environment and possess the physical, operational, and tactical capabilities to address wide-ranging security related tasks.

This is a full-time job opportunity working a minimum of five 9-hour shifts (Monday-Friday) a week. The Security Operations team provides security for designated properties and personnel using a protective response model. Specialists should maintain a low profile while on duty and are not only responsible for security, but also for providing real-time information about the surrounding area of the work site. Specialists should understand the baseline of the normal environment, and accurately and decisively communicate to supporting entitles when required. This Security Operations team will have high contact and interaction with the client; therefore, Specialists are expected to continually maintain a high-level of physical fitness, professional appearance, and customer service. The full-time Security Operations Specialist will work fixed 9-hour shifts for this weekday security detail. Security Operations Specialists are often directed to work nights, holidays, and weekends, depending upon the client's requirements. We are looking for protection professionals with a high level of emotional intelligence.

Applicants should be in good overall physical, mental, and emotional condition, have a reputation as a team player and be willing to work long hours with ever-changing schedules. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to tactfully negotiate conflict and remain flexible is a must. Security Operations Specialists must possess the ability to interact with all levels of corporate management, liaison internally and externally with a multitude of other departments and personnel. Strong oral communication and representational skills are essential. Candidates must be able to brief, defend, persuade, and instruct others on security requirements and policies. Demonstrated leadership, teamwork and organizational skills and the ability to write in a clear and precise manner are also required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    Provide highly skilled armed protection of personnel, property, and reputation to the designated client.
  • Work within a cross-functional team and communicate with security program stakeholders
  • Report to the SECURITY OPERATIONS TEAM management team
  • Safeguard the work site, personnel and maintain highly sensitive and confidential information.
  • Conduct all facets of protective duties with a focus on detection and deterrence of risks, threats, & vulnerabilities
  • Follow and enhance the directed SOW (contract) and participate in operational sustainment training.
  • Conducts ongoing threat, risk, and vulnerability assessments.
  • Operates motor vehicles in a safe and legal manner.
  • Liaise and coordinate with local law enforcement to ensure business continuity.
  • Document daily operations and non-routine incidents
  • Conduct plains clothes and uniformed executive protection, event security, and other security operations as directed by Program Manager.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
  • Must possess Oregon DPSST Armed Private Security Professional certification
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must have a valid U.S. driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Must have valid Oregon or Washington concealed handgun permit.
  • Must be physically fit and maintain a high level of physical fitness and personal appearance.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant military or law enforcement skills and experience. Armed corporate security experience will be considered.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and analytical skills.
  • Possess high levels of integrity and trustworthiness.
  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrate a high level of proficiency with handguns.
  • Current First Aid, CPR, AED certification required.
  • Ability to work a minimum 9-hour shifts on days, nights and weekends as required and perform mobile/static rapid-response security duties.
  • Experience with after action report writing.
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

The Security Operations Specialist must have:

  • Ability to provide tactical oversight, coaching, and mentoring of best security practices to the unarmed security force
  • Ability to be an effective communicator to all stakeholders
  • Ability to embrace the concept of being a diplomat & service enabler

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous medical training and current certifications are highly desirable.
  • Continued education
  • Foreign language skills
  • Strong grasp of de-escalation / Crisis Intervention Training / Community Oriented Enforcement-Problem solving
