MIS-Departmental ITT Section

Starting Salary: $133,836 - $150,768

Under direction, manages all aspects of a City department's computer systems including the design, development, installation, operation, and maintenance of its hardware, software, and communications networks, and performs related duties as required.

This class title has been designated as a multi-tiered title. Positions allocated to this title code are assigned to large City departments and have been designated as such on the Senior Manager Salary Plan.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

* Oversees the development and implementation of CDA's strategic vision for information technology and IT Security.

* Manage IT staff and resources to ensure all Airport sections receive the support needed to fulfill their job functions.

* Create and maintain a budget and staffing plan for the IT section and serve as hiring manager for the section.

* Supervise CDA employees specializing in Information Technology and Telecommunications.

* Assign & prioritize work for the section, review work for accuracy and completeness, and provide feedback to employees.

* Foster professional development of employees. Initiate recognition, mentoring or progressive discipline of employees as needed.

* Demonstrate contract management authority including but not limited to preparing scope of work, schedules, budgets and technical requirements for contracts and projects.

* Participate in pre-proposal meetings to articulate the contract goals, participate in contract and task order evaluation committees, encumber funds for goods and services, and interpret contract terms to ensure vendor performance.

* Direct day-to-day operations of the IT section including software and hardware purchasing, consultant / contractor direction, construction project and infrastructure review related to information technology and telecommunications requirements.

* Interpret contract terms to ensure contractor performance

Days: Monday - Friday

Hours: 8:30AM - 4:30PM

Qualifications

Education, Training, and Experience

* Eleven (11) years of work experience in data processing systems design, implementation, and management, of which five (5) years are in a supervisory role related to the responsibilities of the position, OR

* Graduation from an accredited college with an Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology/Systems or a directly related field, plus nine (9) years of work experience in data processing systems design, implementation, and management, of which five(5) years are in a supervisory role related to the responsibilities of the position, OR

* Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology/Systems or a directly related field, plus seven (7) years of experience in data processing systems design, implementation, and management of which five(5) years are in a supervisory role related to the responsibilities of the position, OR

* Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology/Systems or a directly related field, plus six (6) years of experience in data processing systems design, implementation, and management of which five (5) years are in a supervisory role related to the responsibilities of the position

NOTE:

* May be required to work late nights or weekends.

* A valid State of Illinois driver's license is required.

* The candidate(s) selected for hire must pass an airport background check and a Security Threat Assessment (STA).
