Production Control Manager
Overview Oversees the day-to-day operations of the production planning team including the development and maintenance of the production schedule and long range production capacity planning. Interfaces with key personnel from the Responsibilities Provide leadership to the Production Planning Team Manage the production schedule and monitor progress to identify and eliminate scheduling barriers and Identify production bottlenecks and work with the Manufacturing team to ensure necessary labor, materials Actively participate in program/part launch scheduling activities with Sales and Engineering to ensure Work with Purchasing team to expedite critical materials as needed. Work with Production Planning and Inventory Control teams to set up and run inventory kanban programs, Work with Production Planning, Inventory Control and Manufacturing teams to minimize overrun, excess Participate in strategic planning processes to include Sales and Operations planning activities Reconcile customer provided supplier delivery ratings to ensure performance measurement accuracy Lead weekly production planning meeting. Qualifications EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Must have Bachelor's degree and 5+ years experience in a manufacturing environment Scheduling/Planning experience required Sound technical knowledge and proven ability to develop subordinates Effective written and verbal communication skills APICS certification desired Lean/Six Sigma experience a plus OTHER QUALIFICATIONS Computer literate.
