Job Title: Embedded Software Engineer

Salary: $135,699-$135,700

Job Location: 235 East Airway Blvd. Livermore, CA 94551

Job Type: Full-time, 40 hours a week, Monday - Friday

Duties: Provide engineering support of a product development and continuation team. Independently design, code and debug embedded software in assembly and high-level languages. Work with electronic design team to optimize logic and microprocessor circuit implementations. Follow and document engineering procedures. Design, code and debug realtime embedded software/firmware for new product development and sustaining projects. Design, setup and run bench and unit tests to ensure the design meets specifications. Apply current techniques and tools to improve design time, cost, reliability and functionality. Maintain records and documentation on all designs, tests and analysis. Work within a small design team to complete assigned objectives. Debug systems from prototypes, development, and customer returns. Participate in software design, electrical schematic and project reviews.

Requirements: Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field and two (2) years of experience as a an Embedded Software Engineer, or related role where experience was gained. Also requires experience in the following:

  • 2 years in real-time software programming using assembly level and high-level languages such as C and C++ on embedded systems;

  • 2 years with emulators, in-circuit testing and software debugging tools/techniques on embedded systems;

  • 2 years working on microprocessor-based boards, reading schematics and component data sheets;

  • 2 years on software analysis, documentation and design of tests;

  • 2 years working with a source code control system - branching, code reviews, merging;

  • 2 years in Unit test development for embedded systems; and

  • 1 year working on or adjacent to control and feedback systems.
