Application Programmer

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Python Developer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Jersey City, NJ, Charlotte, NC or Plano, TX. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

This role is part of the Enterprise Capital Management technology team, which focuses on ensuring compliance with regulatory capital reporting under Basel rules. The selected candidate will be responsible for hands-on application development to support a new, scalable capital reporting and analysis platform while partnering with multiple technology teams to implement the target architecture and migrate to the strategic platform.

Responsibilities:

• Perform hands-on application development to support current and target processes
• Partner with multiple Technology teams to implement the target architecture and migration to the strategic platform
• Elaborate requirements for data sourcing elements for calculating risk weighted assets
• Detail business logic for computing financial elements and define process-flow for generating capital ratios

Requirements:

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or any quantitative discipline
• Typically requires 10+ years of applicable experience
• 8+ years of experience in Python development
• 2+ years of Java development experience
• 7+ years of SQL programming experience, preferably with databases such as Oracle Exadata
• 5+ years of UNIX scripting experience and unit test mock frameworks
• Programming experience with Hadoop
• Experience working with agile methodologies and SDLC processes
• Knowledge of performance tuning data-intensive applications
• Expertise in performance profiling, ability to identify performance improvements and memory optimizations
• Strong coding, debugging, and analytical skills
• Experience in large-scale enterprise application implementation
• Creative individual with a track record of working on and implementing innovative tech-based solutions
• Excellent communication skills

Desired skills:

• Background in capital calculations
• Knowledge and/or experience working within the Hadoop or other big data distributed ecosystem
• Knowledge of cloud computing or distributed computing

Pay range: $58.26 - $66.26 per hour
