As a Senior Platform Operations Engineer, you will play a key role in building, operating, and evolving our Azure-based internal platform. You will design and deliver platform capabilities that enable application teams to independently deploy, manage, and scale their services using standardized, self-service solutions.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to directly impact developer experience, platform reliability, and the adoption of modern cloud practices. You will own critical platform services, mentor team members, and help drive consistency and operational excellence across our environments.

WHO YOU ARE

  • Proven experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering roles with a strong focus on hands-on delivery and ownership.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud computing technologies, with experience in Microsoft Azure environments including networking, compute, and managed services.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or OpenTofu, including developing reusable modules and patterns.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and deployment tooling.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes/AKS).
  • Solid understanding of observability practices, including monitoring, logging, and alerting (e.g., Azure Monitor, Application Insights).
  • Strong understanding of networking, identity, and security best practices in cloud environments.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Design, implement, and operate core platform services within Azure, including landing zone components, networking, and shared infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) modules and automation to enable consistent, scalable deployments across environments.
  • Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines and deployment frameworks that support application teams in delivering software efficiently and reliably.
  • Create and maintain "golden paths" that enable application teams to provision infrastructure and deploy services through self-service capabilities.
  • Collaborate with application engineering teams to onboard them to platform capabilities and improve overall developer experience.
  • Implement and maintain observability solutions to ensure visibility into platform performance, health, and usage.
  • Support escalation for platform and infrastructure-related issues, working closely with application teams to resolve complex problems.
  • Continuously monitor and optimize platform performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of platform standards, best practices, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including SRE, Security, and Engineering to align on platform capabilities and operational excellence.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $100,000 to $120,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus or commission tied to achieved results.
