Environmental Health & Safety Specialist

Position Overview: Investigate, measure, and evaluate environmental and safety conditions within all company locations across the country. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with leaders across the organization to develop, implement, evaluate, and maintain company policies and shape the strategic direction of EHS within the company. You'll bring forward-thinking ideas, a solutions-oriented mindset, and a commitment to excellence, all while fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Prepare, analyze, and maintain safety reports, metrics and weak point analysis for associates and leadership.
• Conduct regular safety audits and environmental assessments across different sites to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
• Identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential hazards (chemical, physical, ergonomic) to ensure a safe work environment.
• Lead investigations into accidents, injuries, and near-misses, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Develop, maintain, and deliver EHS training programs to employees and leadership.

Position Requirements:

• 3+ years of proven EHS experience
• Ability to travel extensively, 50%, and work flexible hours across different locations.
• Experience in Manufacturing environments preferred
• Strong training background
• Exceptional strategic thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with a sense of urgency.

Physical/Mental Requirements Needed to Perform Essential Functions of the Position:

Frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. Occasional exposure to work in high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles and outdoor weather conditions. Moderate noise level. Must be able to work in a plant environment and be able to inspect all operations. Lifting/moving up to 50 lbs. Vision abilities (close, distant, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus).
