As the Business Intelligence Innovation Manager, you will champion new solutions to leverage data, reporting, analytics, and artificial intelligence to drive business outcomes that align with Securian's Individual Solutions'business strategy. This role works alongside business users to help them evaluate AI solutions and support change management. This also includes analysis of the underlying data assets supporting AI & analytics solutions and executing data strategy. You will collaborate with data, technology, analytics, and business teams to implement these solutions to allow the organization to effectively manage Individual Solutions data and grow the business.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Innovation

  • Serve as Individual Solutions' primary leader in driving the execution and operationalization of Individual Solutions data & analytics strategy including Artificial Intelligence, Data Infrastructure, and Analytics in the pursuit of business outcomes.

  • Develop & maintain the roadmap for the use of all Individual Solutions data infrastructure & advanced analytics enhancements, in coordination with eDNA and Enterprise Technology leadership.

  • Identify and advocate for practical solutions to ensure IS data is fit for use and to drive analytics resulting in business value, in collaboration with Shared Services Groups.

  • Create and present business use cases for data, analytics, and AI initiatives while being accountable for measuring the business value delivered through investments in Individual Solutions data and analytics.

  • Educate Securian Financial on Individual Solution's maturity and needs from a data and analytics perspective.

    Team Management & Development

    • Lead and mentor a team of Business Intelligence (BI) associates.

    • Oversee the development of complex reports and dashboards that support life and annuity business performance and drive decision making.

    • Guide the team to identify new opportunities for data analysis and apply advanced analytics methodologies.

    • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and collaboration within the BI team.

    Business Stakeholder Engagement

    • Establish a regular forum with IS leaders and key associates to align on data and analytics use cases, while fostering education that empowers data-driven decision-making and the strategic use of AI to drive business impact.

    • Proactively seek the perspective of IS leaders to ensure data and analytics issues have been identified and are appropriately prioritized.

    • Key business point of contact with Shared Service groups throughout the implementation of significant data and analytics projects.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Economics, Math, Statistics, Computer Science or related field

    • Experience working with data & analytics solutions for Financial Services, ideally individual life and annuity insurance

    • Experience in coaching, mentoring, leading and/or work directing others

    • Ability to develop a strong understanding of Individual Solutions operating model.

    • Excellent communication, persuasion, and stakeholder management skills

    • Strategic executor with attention to detail and a deep understanding of business operations

    • Proven collaboration with data professionals as well as business stakeholders to inform and execute strategic goals

    • Has an understanding of cloud computing ecosystems and data analytics

    • Prior experience with business intelligence tools (e.g. R Shiny, Tableau, Alteryx, etc.)

You'll join us 3 days each week in our offices to collaborate and build relationships. Our policy allows flexibility for the reality of business and personal schedules.

    The estimated base pay range for this job is:

    $92,200.00 - $172,000.00

    Pay may vary depending on job-related factors and individual experience, skills, knowledge, etc. More information on base pay and incentive pay (if applicable) can be discussed with a member of the Securian Financial Talent Acquisition team.
