Description
The MEP Quality Control/Commissioning Manager is an integral part of the Project Team responsible for the implementation and execution of CWC's Quality Management System and management of the commissioning, Closeout and Warranty process. As well as providing quality control support to field and corporate personnel.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Promote CWC's
quality control vision, policies, and procedures - Enforce the company
safety program in accordance with company's best practice policies and, local, state, and federal laws - Implement and
manage all aspects of the Corporate Quality Management System (QMS) at the project level to ensure all work is performed as required per the project plans, specifications, and approved submittals using the Three Phases of Control - Assist project
teams in executing MEP related Quality Control efforts across various project sites, ensuring contractual and industry standard performance by MEP subcontractors. - Coordinate and
participate in BIM modeling process, ensuring all MEP work is coordinated per the project specifications, codes, and industry standards. - Conduct and
document Preparatory Meetings (Phase 1) for MEP definable feature of work. Review all requirements for the work (i.e. plans, specifications, approved submittals, and AHA). Assess preliminary work and inspect the site with the project team and subcontractor. Issue meeting minutes within 48 hours - Conduct and
document MEP Initial Inspections (Phase 2). Ensure all required/approved materials, equipment, and personnel are available. Verify preliminary work and inspect the initial placement of work - Conduct and
document Follow-up Inspections (Phase 3) throughout the construction process by monitoring work on a daily basis to ensure project requirements are met and tasks are performed correctly. Non-compliance items shall be documented with an observation in Procore - Manage the
submittal process including creation of the submittal log, receipt of submittals, compliance review, submission, logging, tracking, and distribution to the project team. - Manage
project observation log as well as any deficiencies noted by Third-Party inspections and Architect's field reports. Track all non-compliant items to closure - Ensure receipt and accuracy of electronic
as-built drawings and/or set of red-line as-built plans. Manage project close out information, including receipt of required documentation from subcontractors, electronic assembly of close out documents, and transmission of all required information - Manage the project
punch-out process, take primary responsibility for preparation of a final completion list. Conduct pre-punch, pre-final, and final punchlist inspections. Prepare and distribute punchlist to the responsible subcontractors and track completion of all punchlist items - Use the
latest technology and software to complete projects as assigned
Commissioning Management & Support
- Manage the commissioning process,
ensuring all trade partners are adhering to the Commissioning Plan and schedule including start-up, testing, training, commissioning process, and deficiency resolution with responsible subcontractors. - Facilitate communications between trade
partners and the owner's Commissioning Agent - Ensure trade partners are installing
MEP and fire safety systems per contract requirements during construction so they will function as intended - Track and facilitate the timely resolution
of all commissioning issues that arise during commissioning - Manage project commissioning information and documentation including
receipt of required start-up, verification testing, and commissioning documentation from subcontractors, electronic assembly close out documents, and transmission of all required information. - Coordinate system training and turnover
to owner's building operations staff - Lead resolution of the MEP commissioning and warranty issues,
coordinating efforts with clients, contractor team members, commissioning agents, design partners and MEP subcontractors.
QC Training
- Attend, as
assigned, all CWC in-house and external training programs - Provide input
to annual corporate quality management training program and perform jobsite employee QC training as needed - Produce QC training
content as required - Maintain
required certifications
Risk Management and Loss Reductions
- Provide field
observations and suggestions regarding opportunities to improve performance and lower insurance costs - Assist with QC
claims handling and their resolution - Assist in QC incident
investigations and reporting
Knowledge, Experience, and Special Skills Required
- Architectural or Engineering degree in
Mechanical, Electrical or other Construction related field is preferred. - A minimum of 3 years of experience managing
and coordinating submittal processes and performing quality control inspections of the work with a minimum of 5 years of construction experience - Strong understanding of commissioning
processes, building HVAC, BAS controls, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety systems - Ability to identify and resolve issues
quickly and efficiently - LEED certification preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Procore,
Bluebeam - Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to assess and prioritize multiple
tasks, projects, and demands - Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Trustworthy, self-motivated, passionate and
dedicated to high-quality work - Works successfully as part of a team
- Ability to perform all duties in a digital/paperless
environment - OSHA 30 hour, first aid and CPR
certifications
Wage Transparency
In accordance with the Maryland Wage Transparency Law, the base salary range for this position is: $90,000.00 - $130,000.00

The determination of salary is based on the candidate's individual professional experience, qualification, education, skills, and training.
Individuals should be able to reach above and below, stoop and bend, sit, walk, and stand. Individuals should also be able to lift, carry and/or moving items up to 50lbs. May be exposed to heavy machinery/equipment, hazardous chemicals and extreme weather conditions. Minimum of 40 hours per week required. Works hours will vary depending on project specifications and may involve weekends and night work.
