$19.52 to $21.47 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Central Area/Rockledge/Brevard County Emergency Operations Center. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Performs experienced technical work in maintaining database records and paperwork associated with all Brevard County address records. Work involves reviewing new commercial and residential plats; creating and adding new addresses; updating 911 databases; working in the Accela system utilized by the Brevard County Planning & Development Department; meeting with customers, including developers, other staff members, and residents to explain the address assignment process; reviewing the address compliance; and assisting with issue resolution.



REQUIREMENTS:Two (2) years [60 semester or 90 quarter hours] of college-level credit with major coursework in Geography, Civil Engineering, Construction Science, Urban/Regional Planning, or a closely related field PLUS two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in reading and interpreting a wide variety of maps, aerial photographs, survey notes, plats, and legal descriptions; OR four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in construction, permitting, and/or reading and interpreting a wide variety of maps, aerial photographs, survey notes, plats, and legal descriptions; OR two (2) years of experience as a Brevard County Address Assignment Technician I. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. Experience utilizing Geographic Information System (GIS) software, including ArcMap or other similar software, is preferred. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must have completed, or successfully complete within six (6) months of employment, the Brevard County Section 508 Compliance training for Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe PDF. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
