Job Overview:

As part of the project management team whose responsibility is the successful completion of new compressor contracts, the Project Manager (PM) will be responsible for leading multiple engineered to order projects to achieve on-time delivery of machines and engineering documents, while meeting all customer specification requirements and business financial goals.

Additionally, the Project Manager (PM) will be responsible for some of the same tasks in regard to a portion of aftermarket centrifugal orders. The person in this position will manage all aspects of the project including relations with customers, reporting progress to management, the scheduling of activities, and issues resolution. The individual is a primary customer contact and, as such, must remain cognizant of contract activities, status and schedules. The individual will communicate with virtually every department within the organization on a wide variety of technical and commercial issues. Close coordination and consistent communication with other business functions across the organization is required along with excellent management skills.

Responsibilities:


  • Independently manage varying complexities of Engineered Product Orders, as well as some aftermarket centrifugal orders, leveraging the Business Operating System for Engineered to Order Process.

  • Identify and resolve with the team any potential deviations from the approved project plan.

  • Managing critical paths to achieve milestone goals.

  • Facilitate activities to quickly reach consensus decisions and conflict resolution amongst the team with the guidelines of quality, schedule, cost, and customer requirements.

  • Communicate project status, issues, risks, and activities, look to mitigate risk, work with planners to prioritize or expedite parts. Chair meetings to lead to final decisions while also maintaining meeting minutes and actions required.

  • Effective communication and relationship building with customers.

  • Manage costs; maintain / identify & drive for improvement in cost ratio.




Requirements:


  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related discipline is highly valued but will consider technical aptitude or rotary equipment experience/knowledge.

  • 3+ years of Project Management experience

Preferences:


  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certified valued.

  • PMP certification is highly valued.

  • Experience with ERP/MRP (SAP/Oracle) preferable.
