The Role

Suffolk Technologies, a leading built environment venture capital and innovation platform partnered with $9B construction leader Suffolk, is seeking a high-performing MBA intern to join its investment team for a 10-week summer internship.

This role offers the opportunity to work directly with senior investors on developing and executing investment strategies across the built environment. The internship will be heavily focused on developing an original investment thesis within tech-enabled services, including robotics, automation, and hardware-enabled business models.

This role is designed for candidates with pre-MBA experience in private equity, venture capital, investment banking, or top-tier consulting, and a strong interest in technology investing.

Responsibilities

You will work closely with the Venture Capital Investment team across the following areas:

  • Thematic Research & Investment Strategy: Play a key role in developing an investment thesis focused on tech-enabled services, including robotics, automation, and hardware-enabled platforms; synthesize market insights into actionable investment perspectives and present findings to the team
  • Deal Sourcing & Market Mapping: Identify emerging trends, generate deal flow, meet with founders, and engage with venture capital firms, corporates, and other ecosystem participants
  • Due Diligence & Investment Analysis: Conduct market sizing, competitive analysis, and company evaluation; build financial models and develop investment memos
  • Communication & Presentation: Distill complex ideas into clear, structured, and compelling presentations for internal and external stakeholders


Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a top-tier MBA program, graduating in 2027, and available for a full-time 10-week summer internship
  • Pre-MBA experience in private equity, venture capital, investment banking, or top-tier management consulting strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated interest in technology investing, startups, and the built environment
  • Experience with or exposure to tech-enabled services, robotics, hardware, or industrials is a plus
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex ideas into clear, structured narratives
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills; experience with valuation and business model analysis preferred
  • Highly self-directed, with the ability to operate in an unstructured, fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand, and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level.

Compensation Information

The expected salary range for this position is between $40 per hour and $50 per hour.
