Overview

To serve as a NQC Quality Control Analyst reporting to the Groton, CT Facility. Electric Boat NQC Inspection Quality Control is a contract compliance assurance organization responsible for assuring that Suppliers, providing material to Electric Boat (EB) have complied with the specific product requirements as delineated within their purchase order (PO) requirements. This validation of conformance to contractual obligations is accomplished through the review of quality certification and conformance documents required to be delivered by the PO such as, chemical and mechanical material test reports, NDT process and records of completion, first article testing, welding processes and records, shock and vibration qualification testing conformance and approvals and other quality conformance documents. Responsibilities will include developing inspection programs for your designated Suppliers, managing the Suppliers to their program specifications and planning and executing inspections of PO quality requirements.

Additionally:

Assist in review, modification, and implementation of Quality procedures.

    Provide Quality related drawing and specification review
  • Assist with oversight of QA Records of Suppliers
  • Provide support of NAVSEA audits (Phase I, Phase II, Functional, and 08.)
  • Support internal/external investigations into Quality matters


Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-4 years of relevant quality control experience, either at Electric Boat or military experience

Preferred:

  • Experience in Project Management, Quality Management or Quality Audit
  • Engineering degree
  • Prior experience with MRP II, Artemis, MS Project
  • Previous military experience


Skills

  • A strong working knowledge of material certification requirements is required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Experience in leading and conducting problem investigations (root cause analysis)
  • Formal training in quality auditing and/or quality management
  • Prior submarine shipbuilding experience is desired, but not required - Trades, Shipyard, Planning or Military experience applies.
  • A proven ability to interface with Operations, Engineering, Design, Material Systems, Configuration Management, Quality and other EB organizations at various levels of management is highly desirable.
  • The individual filling this position will be called upon to represent Electric Boat Supplier Quality Assurance at various Suppliers during inspections and Program Review meetings.
  • The successful candidate will be expected to know, comply with, and participate in organizational improvement goals.
