The Microsoft Security Response Center (MSRC) is on the front lines of protecting customers, Microsoft, and the global community. MSRC serves as the central intake for all externally reported security vulnerabilities impacting Microsoft products and services. The team performs technical security assessments, prioritizes issues based on risk and impact, drives mitigations with appropriate urgency, and publishes security guidance and updates to help protect customers.
Beyond flagship programs such as Patch Tuesday and Microsoft's bug bounty initiatives, MSRC continuously evolves its approach by challenging the status quo and building strong partnerships across Microsoft and with the global security research community to improve security response at scale.

We are seeking an experienced Principal PM Manager to lead a team of Product Managers and Technical Program Managers responsible for the tools, processes, and programs that enable speed, quality, and customer delight in Microsoft's vulnerability response ecosystem. This role owns end to end product thinking, has regular executive visibility, and delivers outcomes that impact security teams and products across Microsoft.

Responsibilities
  • Define and execute the vision and both short and long-term roadmaps, aligned with customer needs, Microsoft's security priorities, and industry trends.
  • Establish clear goals, success metrics, and performance indicators to ensure delivery from concept through launch and iteration.
  • Lead, coach, and grow a team of Product Managers and Technical Program Managers, including hiring, onboarding, and talent development.
  • Anticipate challenges in complex and evolving environments; experiment, learn, and adapt to deliver meaningful outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively and influence at scale through clear written, verbal, and executive level communication.
  • Navigate ambiguity with confidence and respond constructively to change.
  • Drive outcomes through strong cross team collaboration across engineering, security, and other organizations.


Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year(s) people management experience.
Other Requirements:
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
  • Citizenship & Citizenship Verification:This position may require verification of citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports international and/or federal government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport, or other approved documents, or verified US government.
Additional or preferred qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years people management experience.
  • 4+ years experience taking a product, feature, or experience to market (e.g., design, addressing product market fit, and launch, internal tool/framework).
  • 6+ years experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market (e.g., growing customer base, expanding customer usage, avoiding customer churn).
  • 6+ years experience disrupting a market for a product, feature, or experience (e.g., competitive disruption, taking the place of an established competing product).
  • 4+ years of experience in a security related field.

Product Management M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
