Acupuncturist provides acupuncture therapy services in conjunction with medical care to MGBCI patients. Primary areas of focus for acupuncturist includes alleviation of pain, stress and anxiety associated with illness and treatment as well as other side effects and symptoms such as nausea. The acupuncturist treats in both inpatient and ambulatory settings as directed by their supervisor.

Education
Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required or Master's Degree Related Field of Study preferred

Licenses and Credentials
Acupuncturist [Commonwealth of Massachusetts] - Generic - HR Only required Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred

Experience
experience practicing acupuncture 3 years required and experience providing acupuncture in a healthcare setting such as a hospital, community health center, pain clinic or other integrative health care setting 3 years preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of acupuncture theory, anatomy and physiology.
- Demonstrated ability to make appropriate judgments of the patient to provide safe acupuncture.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patients served on assigned units.
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with varied populations.
- Work independently, be self-directed and contribute as a member of a team.
- High level of service delivery Demonstrate initiative with ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and adapt to changing situations.
- Must carry professional liability insurance.
