Position Overview
The Department of Radiology Administrative Division is seeking a dependable and technically capable student to assist with IT support, hardware deployment, and end-user services. This position supports faculty, administrative staff, and research teams in a busy academic healthcare admin environment. This role provides hands-on technical experience while developing professional communication and customer service skills in a real-world enterprise setting. Work Schedule Requirements
* Minimum commitment of 10 hours per week * Must be available to work between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday-Friday * Schedule coordinated around academic coursework Key Responsibilities
* Configure, image, and deploy workstations, laptops, peripherals, and accessories * Assist with ordering and asset tracking of department hardware * Provide on-site troubleshooting for hardware issues * Provide software support and user training for administrative staff (MS Office knowledge preferred) * Assist with inventory management and small internal databases * Maintain and update internal departmental website content * Assist with production and distribution of internal newsletters * Support basic video and image editing projects * Provide photography for departmental needs when required * Deliver professional, responsive customer service to faculty and staff Preferred Opportunities (Based on Interest and Skill Level)
* Develop scripts or small automation tools (PowerShell, Python, etc.) * Assist with basic web development or database improvements * Participate in process improvement initiatives Required Qualifications
* Current University of Iowa student in good academic standing * Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability * Professional communication skills * Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks * Customer-service oriented mindset Preferred Qualifications
* Major in Computer Science, Informatics, Engineering, or related field * Experience with Windows workstation setup and troubleshooting * Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) * Basic scripting or programming experience * Experience with website content management What You Will Gain
