Supervisor, Materials Management - Management Services

What you will be doing:

The Supervisor, Materials Management is responsible for providing tactical support and supervisory coordination of the supply chain operations and its associated activities, which may include requisitioning, warehouse/ clean supply/ perioperative/ procedural supplies management, inventory control, distribution, receiving, client services support, reporting analytics, process flow management, and the associated supervision of staff.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise Distribution/ Receiving/ Inventory/ Warehouse teams - 40%

  • Educate client's staff in the acquisition, use and correct storage of supplies and equipment.

  • Supervise operations - MMIS, Warehouse, Par Locations, etc. workflows, process steps.

  • Oversee staff training on Materials Management Information Systems (MMIS), specific to their duties and responsibilities.

Supervise Distribution/ Receiving/ Inventory/ Warehouse Function - 40%

  • Support Par Level management throughout all client sites.

  • Support receiving, storeroom, distribution, and inventory management.

  • Support the process for invoicing issues and investigate discrepancies.

  • Supervise the standardization of processes for streamlined reliable and efficient supply replenishment and procurement for all departments and inventory locations.

  • Assist with the establishment of policies and procedures for supply chain.

  • Coordinate campus specific needs, quantities, standardizations, etc.

  • Implements Supply Chain inventory control best practices.

  • Supervises maintenance activities of inventory and par locations (Perpetual/Non-Perpetual, Clean Supply, etc.)

  • Identify utilization and waste reduction opportunities.

Communication and Reporting - 20%

  • Implements systems and controls as directed by Management and Leadership to improve productivity and efficiency of materials handling operations

  • Maintains Key Performance Indicators.

  • Performs analysis as directed.

  • Manages key stakeholder relationships and establish ongoing relationships through supervisory team to achieve highest level of engagement.

  • Provides Supervisory guidance and support to staff to develop their understanding of inventory control best practices to ensure operational and financial goals are met.

  • Communicate Inventory Control activities, results, and decisions throughout the enterprise

Required Qualifications

Work Experience:

Years of Applicable Experience - 4 or more years

Education:

High School Diploma or GED (Required)

Preferred Qualifications

Skills:

  • Communication

  • Analytics and Workflow Standardization

  • Resource management

Experience:

  • Knowledge of supply chain management inventory level principles and practices

  • Ability to optimize inventory functions to create operating efficiencies and cost savings

  • Ability to create KPIs for a team

  • Experience in managing front-line resources

  • Ability to effectively communicate with clinical and physician leadership and staff

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • BA/BS in Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, Health Care Administration, Business Administration, or another related field

Working Conditions: Hospital Environment Travel Requirements: Travel 1-20% within the US Physical Demands: Medium: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Premier's compensation philosophy is to ensure that compensation is reasonable, equitable, and competitive in order to attract and retain talented and highly skilled employees. Premier's internal salary range for this role is $62,000 - $93,000. Final salary is dependent upon several market factors including, but not limited to, departmental budgets, internal equity, education, unique skills/experience, and geographic location. Premier utilizes a wide-range salary structure to allow base salary flexibility within our ranges.
