Location:Employee's main office will be located in Longview, WA, at Waste Control, with the option to work out of the Vancouver, WA office 1-2 days per week.
Salary:$78,000 annually + commission plan and mileage reimbursement + 10% Equity Bonus

Travel: Minimum once-a-month visits to each landfill; more frequent visits are required during training.

About the Role:
We're seeking aLandfill Waste Services Account Manager to support sales efforts at ourFinley ButtesandWasco County Landfillsites in Boardman and The Dalles, OR. This role focuses on building and maintaining strong client relationships, driving revenue growth, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Ideal candidates will have experience in waste disposal or a related field, with a strong technical aptitude in environmental or landfill sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, pursue, and secure new industrial waste disposal and collection opportunities, promoting the full suite of environmental and wastemanagement services.

  • Build and maintain longterm customer relationships through proactive communication, service followup, and account management.

  • Expand revenue within existing accounts by identifying additional service needs, creating account plans, and improving overall account penetration and retention.

  • Develop tailored technical waste and environmental management solutions based on customer requirements, operational needs, and regulatory considerations.

  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, valuefocused presentations, proposals, and solution recommendations.

  • Serve as the primary liaison between customers and internal teams, ensuring alignment on solution requirements, timelines, implementation feasibility, and service delivery.

  • Provide consultative guidance on special waste streams, including profiling, characterization, and disposal options.

  • Collaborate with legal teams to prepare and finalize service agreements, disposal contracts, and customer documentation.

  • Support financial forecasting, budgeting, pricing strategies, and reporting activities with district leadership.

  • Promote additional company services-including recycling and compost offerings-and recommend pricing adjustments when appropriate.

  • Analyze sales data, market trends, competitive activity, and pricing insights to develop strategic recommendations and anticipate customer needs.

  • Maintain thorough knowledge of company services, operational capabilities, and pricing structures to deliver complete wastestream solutions.

  • Stay current on local, state, and federal environmental regulations impacting waste disposal, transportation, and compliance requirements.

  • Prepare required paperwork, customer service agreements, and documentation in accordance with company policies.

  • Travel regularly within the assigned territory, including occasional overnight travel.

  • Perform other jobrelated duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred (e.g., biology, environmental studies, chemistry)

  • 2-3+ years of account management experience

  • Experience with large accounts or complex contracts

  • A proven track record of generating new business opportunities in the Environmental Field

  • Strong technical expertise with an extensive understanding of environmental solutions and regulatory compliance

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong presentation skills and the ability to produce high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced work environment

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook
