Float Medical Assistant I, School-Based Health Centers

ChristianaCare's School Based Health Centers is seeking a professional, dependable, detail-oriented Float Medical Assistant I with strong communication, integrity, and solid technical and clinical skills.

ChristianaCare's School-Based Health Centers are embedded in high schools and elementary schools across the Newcastle and Kent Counties. The School-Based Health Centers were established especially for students to help make the best quality health care available in our community more accessible tothem. The School Based Health Centers provide comprehensive medical and mental health care, treatment and health education to promote a healthy lifestyle. Each health center is operated by a partnership that includes ChristianaCare, school districts, and the Delaware Division of Public Health, Department of Health and SocialServices.

Flexibility to cross cover high schools and/or elementary schools in Newcastle and Kent Counties, required. Cross coverages are based on the department's needs.

Work Schedule:

• Mondays through Fridays: 7am to 4pm, hours are contingent on the assigned school's schedule.

• No weekends or holidays

Duties / Responsibilities:

The Medical Assistant I greets and supports patients virtually and in person, prepares them for visits, performs basic clinical tasks (e.g., testing, injections, EKGs), assists with exams, and maintains exam rooms and equipment. They manage EMR updates, patient communications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling, while handling clerical duties, troubleshooting video visits, and supporting patient portal access.

Position Qualifications:

• High School Graduate or GED required.

• A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program and

  Hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) or obtain within three months of hire.

• 2 years' experience as a Medical Assistant, is required, 3 years preferred.
