Director, Survey Practice

Halff has an immediate opening for a Director of Survey for our South Texas offices. This is a leadership position and will collaborate with Survey Team Leaders out of our Texas (TX) offices.

We are seeking a seasoned Director to lead and grow our Survey Practice, providing direction and support to multiple teams across one or more offices. This role is a key leadership position, bridging operations, technical excellence, and business growth while ensuring highquality survey delivery and strong client relationships.

What You'll Do

• Lead and support multiple surveying teams through Team Leaders and Senior Team Leaders
• Balance operational leadership with strategic growth, sales, and client development
• Oversee financial performance, staffing, scheduling, quality control, and workshare across survey teams
• Provide technical leadership in surveying, ensuring adherence to QA/QC standards and best practices
• Drive regional and local growth initiatives within land surveying, geomatics, and related services
• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on complex and highprofile surveying projects
• Mentor and develop senior survey staff, supporting performance, career growth, and retention
• Collaborate closely with operations managers, practice leaders, and HR on staffing, hiring, and resource planning

What You Will Need

• Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree
• At least 10 years of progressive experience in land surveying or a related field
• Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) in Texas and ability to obtain other states.
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams on large, complex projects
• Strong understanding of survey operations, project financials, and resource management
• Demonstrated success in business development, client management, and regional pursuits
• Ability to align technical excellence with strategic and operational objectives
